Set up 2-step verification on your personal Facebook account.

Hackers are getting much smarter. Two-step verification will confirm your identity before someone is allowed to log in to your account and change contact information, access levels, and spending advertising dollars.

Once you receive the message 'Your access has been removed.' it is too late.

I have heard of 3 stories in the last few days where a business has lost access to its Facebook page because the owner did not have 2-step verification set up on their personal account.

Even if the other people on your account DO have it set up but you do not, it can still happen. It comes down to the weakest link who has administrative status.

How to set up 2-step verification.

In your personal Facebook account, tap on Menu.

Scroll to the bottom and tap Settings.
Scroll down and tap Security and Login.
Scroll down and tap Use two-factor authentication. You may be asked to enter your password at this point.
Tap Use Authentication App or Use Text Message (SMS).
