Do you want to CANCEL Facebook?! Are there alternative social networking platforms?
You say you want to cancel your Facebook page? As an experienced digital marketer, I advise against canceling or deleting your Facebook page. In the social media marketing industry, I have seen several road signs indicating that we should begin to advise our clients to diversify the channels they are using to get the message out.
Recently, Google and Facebook have both been sued for anti-trust violations. I am not here to discuss the merit of the cases against them, but I can say that it is just the beginning. Both of these companies do control a majority and stifle competition. If these suits don't win, others will.
Also, Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks were placed under an unfavorable spotlight in the 2020 Netflix film The Social Dilemma. This film frightened parents and single folk alike of the addictive and dangerous side effects created purposefully to gain return visits and visitors to social media sites.
Most recently, many tech companies banded together to censor former President Trump, a private-company, Parler, and many private citizens.
With all of this in mind, I can see changes on the frontier. These companies are battling at least 3 different fronts. That is difficult to keep up while continuing to innovate and grow. For the last 7 years, I have said that Facebook is the Big Boy, and there wasn't anything available that might dethrone him.
I didn't find a network in this research that could dethrone Facebook. I feel like Facebook may expel itself, and many networks will fill the void left. Remember that Facebook changed our lives in many facets. You used to wait until the 20-year high school reunion to find out what your buddies (and enemies) were up to. You used to have to talk to people face to face to tell them that their beliefs are wrong. It is going to require something completely different or many networks to fill the Big Boy's shoes.
First, I googled many terms, variations of 'social media apps', and searched both the Google Play store and the Apple App Store to compile a list of networks to investigate. After immediately removing Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, I compiled the following list of 19 websites and apps that topped the lists.

Parler
Parlor
Patreon
Pinterest
Reddit
Snapchat
Steemit
Tik Tok
Tumbler
Next, I gathered as much information as I could quickly from multiple websites after a google search of the following questions.
At this time, I dismissed the outliers.
Clubhouse - must be invited.
Hoop - made for teenagers.
Kik - made for teenagers.
Parler - Is no longer active.
Parlor - Is suffering the fate of Parler because the name is SO similar.
Steemit - Cannot determine if this network is active.
Following this, I eliminated the networks that did not have a specific business profile option. I may revise this.
I will note that Marco Polo, Medium, and MeWe have great potential. Although they do not specifically have a business profile, a personal profile can be used for business purposes.

Finally, I dismissed Tik Tok, Snapchat, and Pinterest because most folks are already somewhat familiar with these networks and how they operate.
Above all, please, hear me. Do not cancel Facebook or delete your page. There are alternative social networks available to spend business time and money. We will dive deep into Tumblr, Reddit, Patreon, and Alignable as options in the next blog.
