FEEL gratitude after Dumpster Fire 2020

Do you know what? I have tried and tried to write a Gratitude blog. For days now, I have sat down at my computer and attempted to write about the many, many people and situations for which I am grateful.

It's not that I have struggled to feel appreciation. Most of the time it oozes out of me like a bodily fluid making people as uncomfortable as it was to read this sentence.

I’m not even sure that Dumpster Fire accurately describes this year. I know that on March 1st of this year, I was wrapping up my first visit to Social Media Marketing World and planning the astronomical successes in my immediate future. Within one week of my return, the world shut down because of #COVID. The world changed.

We have endured a toilet paper shortage, riots in city streets, a Tiger King and his memes, multiple hurricanes, and murder hornets. It is the year that keeps on giving! It has even brought my cancer back. I'm not going to get all emotional about it here but you can read here: Yolk Sac Tumor, Age 38, Female. Oh! And the most vicious Presidential Election (Trump vs. Biden) is 4 days away.

Thank you 2020.

So, for a completely contradictory thought - APPRECIATION. November is days away. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it followed shortly by Christmas. We have entered the time of the year when everyone is supposed to focus on gratitude! How do you change an entire year's worth of complaints to gratitude?

First, relax.

Dr. Teal's Epsom Salt

I have always found an Epsom Salt bath a GREAT place to start when trying to relax. Dr. Teal's Epsom Salt has a way of sending those healing smells through the entire house. I highly recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - 🦋 Haley
Luxury Wood Bath Tray

This thing expands to most bath tub sizes and can hold a larger tablet. It even has a spot for snacks. With this guy, you can stay in the bath as long as you can keep the water warm and the kids out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - 🦋 Haley
Wine Glass Holder for Bath

This trio spells for a good relaxing 2-3 hours if you have a good hot water heater. Buy all three, sit back, and soak your stress away.

Next, list what brings you joy.

Take a piece of paper and pen (or tablet and stylus) and physically write down the people, situations, or ideas that bring the greatest bliss to your heart. Really feel that joy as you write it.

Haley's Gratitude List

🙌 I am grateful to our clients. Our clients turned TO their social media as a speedy way to disseminate information regarding closures or delays in service and because of this our company did not need to reduce staff or staff hours during the pandemic. Please patron their products and services if you ever have a need. You can find many listed in our PORTFOLIO and in our blog Most Referable Companies in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA.

🙌 I am grateful for the additional time provided by the pandemic. It allowed the company to slow down long enough to implement changes that would save time for the future. By automating a significant portion of labor with a new software system, we were able to divert that time to improve the design of our graphics, construction more engaging captions, and increasing the efficacy of our strategies.

🙌 I am grateful for the entertainment provided by the pandemic. Social Media delivered some true gems in 2020 for which I am very appreciative. The memes about toilet paper alone keep me laughing even now.

🙌 Personally, I am extremely grateful that 2020 brought me a marriage. You can read more of our stories in our personal blog here.

"My family. My friends. A good workout. A relaxing bath. My lifestyle. My work-from-home lifestyle. The people that hire The Social Media Lady."

HP EliteDesk

Himalayan Salt Lamp

With the significant amount of electronic devices activated, you should negate those ions with a Himalayan Salt Lamp. This one works great.

Finally, feel that gratitude.

Read and reread that list until you have that rush of warmth and emotion of joy, humility, love, and worthiness. This year has been hard. We should take every chance to right our brains and enjoy the moments that we can. I think the best lesson from this year is to learn to find joy in the life we have.

I have used this extra time wisely and we have very exciting moves coming sooner that I realized. Stay tuned!
